Meet MARQUIETA LUCKEY

MARQUIETA, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?

My Sea Moss Journey first started with a friend that I met at the gym that was a personal trainer. He first introduced me into the Green Monster Sea Moss smoothie that he would get from a friend. I was impressed with the smoothie that I wanted to try it again and I wanted to sell the product. After sharing the smoothie on Facebook and Instagram, friends and family was reaching out to me wanting to try it. I decided I wanted to start a Sea Moss Movement.

So my friend from the gym and I decided to get 100 bottles from his friend and we were reselling them. Clientele started picking up after a year and we decided to make our own smoothies. I remember taking my last $200 and taking a trip to New York to get some raw Sea Moss so we could be in business for ourselves. Once we got the raw Sea Moss it was on and popping.

We would clean the sea moss, soak it and blend it for the smoothies and gels we were making. I was posting consistently on Facebook and Instagram daily sharing my testimony. After drinking the Sea Moss for 6 months I noticed I had more energy, skin was clear and my levels with my thyroid had improved since I had been drinking the Sea Moss daily.

Then COVID hit a year later. Business blew up. That’s when people were finding out about Sea Moss and how it was good for your Immune System. During Covid a lot of people were getting sick so they were willing to try the Sea Moss for the first time. Being apart of the Sea moss movement was showing that you were taking charge of your health.

When people saw their friends and family on my post they wanted to order just because. I realized that was a good marketing tool and that’s how we were getting a lot of our customers. People that were purchasing Sea Moss for the first time was being posted on my Facebook and Instagram for joining the Sea Moss Movement Business was growing with referrals from friends and family.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I am a mother of two children and I have always wanted to have my own smoothie bar. After trying the Green Monster Sea moss smoothie for the first time, I was hooked. I like how the smoothie was healthy and it gave me energy. I was a fitness guru always in the gym so this was a great product for my community. So we decided to buy 100 bottles from my friend that knew a guy with the Sea Moss.

After a year of buying it from him, we decided to go and make our own smoothies. We had fruit smoothies with flavors of triple berry, strawberry, pineapple, and mango. We also had sea moss gels in flavors of hibiscus, pineapple turmeric ginger, elderberry and original. Sea Moss has great benefits for your immune system, joint and muscle pain, sinuses, promotes weight loss and it supports gut health.

I am proud that business has grew over the years and I have been consistent since day 1. I stayed focused and I have a few customers that has been consistent with the Sea moss and they have noticed a change in their bodies with more energy and being able to take a daily bowel movement. I want people to know that taking charge of their health is important by taking your daily dose of Sea moss daily of 2 tablespoons per serving.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

I was introduced into my business partner by a friend of mine. My business partner was the general manger of the gym and he was a personal trainer. I would come and work out at the gym. While I was at the gym we would have discussions on how we could make another source of income. We both wanted to start our own smoothie bar business and we both enjoyed working out. We had the same goals of being an advocate when it came to health and wellness.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

We both took $200 a piece and went to New York to get the products we needed to start our business. We needed the raw sea moss, blenders, organic fruits, bottles and caps, mason jars and organic juice
